INSIDE THE TSINGY

In Madagascar, three seasoned speleologists hope to discover new cavities. They come to the terrain to verify the presence of chasms detected on satellite photos. A new technique that could revolutionize cave exploration. But in the Tsingys massif of the Ankarana, nothing is ever easy. In the stifling heat, progression is slow, as the zone is virgin and unexplored. Classified UNESCO World Heritage site, the Tsingys appear as veritable limestone cathedrals, constituted by a dense network of faults, crevasses, surfaces of stone sculpted into sharp needles or blades. But these difficulties are no problem for these speleologists, in comparison to the joy of being the first to discover the cavities, to explore the caves, to explore the belly of the range. And always this question that returns: what will we find down there?...
