Byambasuren Davaa (Ulan-Bator, Mongolia 1971) worked as moderator and director's assistant for the Mongolian public TV network from 1989 to 1994. In 1998 she attended the film institute and in 2000 moved to Germany where she continued her studies at the Hochschule für film und Fernsehen (HFF), Munich, specializing in documentary films. Together with Luigi Falorni, she made The Story of the Weeping Camel, her second film at the HFF and winner of an Oscar nomination for best documentary. The Cave of the Yellow Dog is her second film.
