A rediscovery of the photographs, letters, memories, thoughts, and articles of Antonio Cederna (1921-1996), journalist, intellectual, and one of the founding fathers of environmentalism in Italy. Cederna devoted his entire life to raising awareness for an approach to development based on the principles attention to quality of life and to conformity with landscape zoning laws and artistic heritage. “Planning is modern,” was his way of thinking. Rereading notes from his father’s diary, Giuseppe evokes still-relevant past events and past battles via archive footage, the sounds and images of urban residential and commercial construction built in Rome during the past decade.
