The Greening of Southie

by Ian Cheney Documentary United States 2008 72'

What happens when you're asked to build the city of tomorrow... today? The Greening of Southie is the story of a revolutionary green building -- the first environmentally-friendly residential structure in Boston, replete with recycled steel, wheat straw cabinets, and sustainable timbers. But building green has its challenges, and the workers who show up on the construction site aren't sure they want to be called "environmentalists." When things on the building start to go wrong, a young developer has to keep the project from unraveling.
