Dying of work

by Daniele Segre Documentary Italia/Italy 2008 88'

Dying of Work enquires into the construction business in Italy, the workers, and the family members of the victims of work-related deaths. The narration unfolds with the stories and testimonies of these people, filmed in close-up as they drive their cars. In addition, three actors, two Italian and one Senegalese, play the role of a worker who dies on a building site. Conversation centers around accidental deaths, pride in one's work, learning a trade, work safety and the lack of it, illegal work, and hiring practices. <%YOUTUBE=Z63EOpqp5n8%>
