Michele Trentini earned a degree in sociology from the University of Dresden with a study on an ecological community in former East Germany. He works in visual anthropology and as an independent documentary filmmaker he has numerous titles to his credit including Piccola Terra (2012), awarded best Italian documentary at the 15th CinemAmbiente, Paesaggio fragile, and Alpinestate (2022)
