Born in 1963, he graduated in 1988 in Earth Sciences from Genoa, obtaining a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering at Turin Polytechnic in 1990. He is currently engaged in specialistic studies in France, Belgium and the US. For 14 years he was responsible for research projects concentrating on natural risks, environmental technologies, climate changes and sustainable development at the General Research He- adquarters for the European Commission in Brussels, whereas for two years 1996/’97 he taught European Environmental Policies at Milan Polytechnic. He is currently a visiting professor at Miami University where he teaches European Environmental Policies. Director of Nucleco, Director of Enea, and Counsellor to the vice-Presidency of the Energy and Environment Board.
