He is president of the Parks for Kyoto committee, promoted by Federparchi, Legambiente, and Kyoto Club, for reforestation projects. One of the founding members of Green Italia, he is vice president of the Coordinamento Fonti Rinnovabili ed EfficienzaEnergetica (FREE) and member of the technical-scientific committee of Nuova Economia X Tutti (NeXt). During the 16th legislature (2008-2013) he was a member of the Environment Commission and the Commission of the investigation into depleted uranium. As a representative for the Kyoto Club, he participated at COP21, Paris, COP22, Marrakesh, and COP23, Bonn.
