Yacine Sersar entered her career in audiovisuals in 1997, making series and reportage for French TV; her directorial film debut was the short Rene l'enclume (2005), presented at various international festivals. In 2006 she won the Grand Prix at the Festival Vidéo d'Orléans for her screenplay for La Queue, after which she directed the award-winning films Tous les matins d'Yvette (2006), C'est pas grave (2008) and Contredanse (2008).
