He is founder of the Movimento per la decrescita felice (Movement for Happy Degrowth), for which he manages the publishing arm, and created in 1988, together with Mario Palazzetti and Tullio Regge the Comitato per l’uso razionale dell’energia (Cure) (Committee for the Rational Use of Energy). His non-fiction works include Le tecnologie di armonia (1994), Discorso sulla decrescita (2007) and La felicità sostenibile (2009); he contributes to numerous publications, including «Carta», and is member of the scientific committee in the saving energy campaign "M’illumino di meno" (Dimming).
