Agostino Ferrente (b. Cerignola, FG, 1971) studied at the "Ipotesi Cinema" and DAMS, Bologna. He has won numerous international awards for his short films Poco più della metà di zero (1993), Opinioni di un pirla (1999) and documentaries Intervista a mia madre (1999), Il film di Mario (1999-2001), co-directed with Giovanni Piperno, and L'orchestra di Piazza Vittorio (2006). In 2001 he founded the Apollo 11 group, a center for cultural production based in Rome, and was vice president of Doc/it, the Association of Italian Documentarists, and founder of the Premio Solinas Documentario.
