He studied in Filmmaking at the Scuola di Cinema of Milan in 1995. He then went on to study Aesthetics and Philosophy at the University of Milan and completed his Master’s degree at Universal Pictures in Los Angeles in 2000. He debuted as a director with the short Quasi una storia (1995), followed by Eccesso di zelo (1997), La terra vista da Marte (1998). Then he made the documentaries Disperanze, lettera dall’India (1998), L’incontro (1999), Jequitinhonha (2001), Prove di danza per una musica nuova (2002), Sulle tracce del gatto (2003). After making one feature film Tu devi essere il lupo (2004) he returned to documentaries with Le ferie di Licu (2006). As screenwriter he won the Premio Solinas for Il sentiero del gatto (1990) and Una rivoluzione (2003).
