Peter Galvin

Co-founder of the Center of Biological Diversity (San Francisco) USA

With a degree from Prescott College, and a master degree from Vermont College, Peter Galvin is one of the founder members of the Center of Biological Diversity in San Francisco, one of the most important organizations in the world for the protection and preservation of endangered species and uncontaminated areas. He is particularly engaged in coordinating legal actions undertaken by the center, and in managing its international programme. In the past he has worked as researcher for the U. S. Forest Service and for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, carrying out studies on protected species. He is also a member of both the board of directors for the Beech Hill Foundation and of the Science Oversight Team, which is part of the Global Owl Project.
