Ray McCormack

A producer for almost 20 years, he made his directorial debut with A Crude Awakening – The Oil Crash (2006), which has been screened at 70 festivals around the world, including CinemAmbiente 2007, and won 8 awards along the way, amongst which the Golden Sun (2007 Catalonian Environmental Film Festival) and the Green Award (2008 Environmental Film Festival Network). He has recently produced Walter Zapp – The Minox was my Life, a Latvian Swiss co-production for NZZ Television. He has a number of feature documentaries at various stages of development, some of which he will also direct, and the first of which is scheduled for completion in late 2009. Over the last 18 years, McCormack has produced, and occasionally directed, music videos, commercials, arts and entertainment programmes for TV, and documentaries, including the award-winning feature documentary Welcome to The Cheapseats. Prior to this, he acquired and developed his skills while working as assistant director, production manager and production assistant on broadcast, commercials and music videos for production companies in London. He is a graduate of the MEDIA training and development programme, EAVE, and has an honours degree in Environmental Policy and Management from Guildhall University. A native of Dublin, Ireland, he currently lives in Zurich, Switzerland.
