Fernando Solanas was born in 1936 in Buenos Aires. In 1968 he imposes himself with a documentary by the title of La hora de los hornos becoming one of "decolonisation" cinema's main representatives. In the 70s due to Argentina's dictatorship he becomes an exile in Paris. Once returned to his country he is a MP from 1993 to 1997. His films include La nube (1998), El viaje (1992), Sur (1988), Tangos, el exilio de Gardel (1985).
