For the removal of 2,5000 kilos of batteries that had been accumulated over the years, in 2002 COBAT (Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Used Batteries and Refuse Containing Lead) climbed to 5,050 meters above sea level to Mt. Everest's K2 CNR research lab, located below Base Camp.
In this documentary, Giancarlo Morandi, president of COBAT, recounts the mission, which he lovingly calls "a case of environmental excellence".
The mission is also a 2-week human adventure, which unfolds as partecipants move from 2,500 to 5,050 meters above sea level.
