I Lavoratori Vanno Ascoltati

What Workers Have to Say
by Christian Tito 2012 18'

One of Europe's major steel mills is the infamous ILVA, Taranto, whose emissions have marked the landscape and the inhabitants since the 1960s. For native Christian Tito, it represents the factory as an instrument of oppression in our times. The smoke, noise, and images, the poetry of Luigi Di Ruscio, poet of steelworker life, who died in 2011, lend voice and dignity to the workers who spent their lives in the mill and carry the marks left by hard work. <%YOUTUBE=UGiNQm8pwMI%>
