Basel, Switzerland, 1943. While returning home by bicycle after a day's work in the laboratory, chemist Albert Hoffmann is suddenly overcome by the hallucinogenic effects of LSD. This will be the first in a long series of psychedelic experiences he will have, as will an entire generation of acid trippers some two decades later.
