Ignazio Ciccarello is a Sicilian shepherd and owns a flock of sheep. Like many other Sicilians, he migrated to the north of Italy. Not finding a job he liked and never really fitting in with the new environment, he returned home to take care of animals like his father and his grandfather before him: hard work, no vacation. Yet living in close tie with nature, its pace marked by daily chores like milking, Ignazio feels that he belongs here, that his life has a purpose, and that he has found his freedom.
