In the flow of real time, director Allison Argo follows a pig farmer through his final year of slaughtering pigs. The result is a meditation on life, death, and what it means to be a sentient creature with the power to kill, focusing the disconnect between humans and what we consume. The bucolic atmosphere and the quiet rhythm on the farm is ruptured by weekly trips to the slaughterhouse. Through sparse, intimate musings, the farmer reveals the growing conflict of a life spent "peddling in death", the ghosts that haunt him forever, and the struggle to reinvent his destiny. After the screening, meeting with the director and Associazione Essere Animali
