Among the Mongolian nomad families that return every summer to the Altai mountains is that of Aisholpan. Member of an ancient Kazakhs tribe that trains eagles, the 13-year-old is keen to follow in her ancestors'footsteps and participate in the annual Festival of the Royal Eagle. With her father's help she learns a trade reserved for males and trains a young eagle of her own. Based on a real-life story, the film poetically tells of how a determined young woman realized her dreams.
