Yi-Jie, an 11-year-old girl, works alongside her parents in a recycling facility while dreaming of attending school. Kun, the facility's ambitious foreman, dreams of a better life. Through the eyes and hands of those who handle refuse from around the world every day, the film offers a glimpse into global consumption and culture. Also, it's gives voice to a barely heard or seen community that toils in waste, sharing daily fatigue and poverty, yet the same dreams of education, good health, and upward mobility like everyone else.
