Surviving Progress

Sopravvivere al progresso
by Harold Crooks, Mathieu Roy 2011 86'

From the Neanderthals to the Mayan, Sumerian and Roman empires, human history is marked by cataclysmic events that brought down entire civilizations. Rapid technological progress is often a means to satisfy primary shortterm needs but it also paves the way to ruin in the long run: a scenario that perfectly reflects today's society. From observations by noted personalities like Stephen Hawking and Ronald Wright, whose book A Short History of Progress spawned the idea for the film, we learn just how close the brink of disaster lies and about the possible ways to avert a possible definite fall.<%YOUTUBE=xTHIuGdA8tQ%>
