Sansui, Landschaft

Sansui, Landscape

Artificially built miniatures of the Mount Fuji are made publicly accessible in urban neighborhoods as alternate pilgrimage sites. The anime protagonist Heidi is one of the most famous heroes in japanese popular culture. In March 2011 a Tsunami causes a nuclear disaster. Sansui, Landscape is a collaged, associative reflection on the links between tradition and catastrophe in Japan, seen through the eyes of a half japanese, who never lived there.
