Memòria de Rio

River's Memory
by Roney Freitas 2013 14'

SÁ£o Paulo is the largest city in Brazil, the most populous city (ca. 20 million inhabitants) in the southern hemisphere, and the world's third largest metropolitan area by population. For centuries, the TietÁª river supplied the city's drinking water. Today, however, as Roney Freitas's elegy depicts its current state, the river is an open sewer of untreated and industrial waste water.
