When Elephants Dance, the Grass Gets Beaten

Quando l'elefante danza, l'erba viene schiacciata
by Jan Van Den Berg 2014 25'

Nearly three-quarters of the arable land in Cambodia has been sold to multinationals for growing fruit for export. With little land remaining for local production, the farmers have left their fields and emigrated to neighboring countries like Thailand in the hope of finding better living conditions. Such is the situation also for Moon's fellow villagers, who are preparing his wedding celebration in a village near the famous Angkor Wat temple.
