Little Land

Piccola terra
by Nikos Dayandas 2013 52'

After the economic crisis struck Greece in earnest in 2009, many young unemployed Athenians left the city for the countryside in the hope of finding better conditions for their future. Such is the story of 35-year-old Thodoris who moved to Icaria, a remote island in the northern Aegean where he discovered a community that survives by its reliance on autonomy and cooperation. Icaria is also famous for its high quality of life and being listed as one of the world's five Blue Zones, unusual for the longevity of its inhabitants.<%YOUTUBE=MU5L86f0qdQ%>
