The video tells about the Gavião Indians' efforts to defend their cultural identity and political independence in spite of the megaprojects (hydroelectric power stations, mines and railways) started by the government in the south of Parà state. The Indians achieve their economic independence and claim compensation for the social, cultural and environmental impact of these projects.
