Silent Snow

Neve silenziosa
by Jan Van Den Berg 2011 71'

An ominous silence hangs over Greenland's arctic plains and the Inuit communities that inhabit them: atmospheric pollution from the accumulation of chemical residues that have come from elsewhere. Jan van den Berg leads us on an Inuit expedition across the glacial landscape and on a journey with Pipauk Knudsen-Ostermann, a young Inuit woman, to the areas where the harmful emissions originate (India, Uganda and Costa Rica) in search of the signs and causes of an invisible yet no less insidious threat, revealing its disastrous implications for Greenland and the rest of the world as well.<%YOUTUBE=Q6TNy51hUPU%>
