Mussolini visita gli stabilimenti della Fiat

Mussolini Visiting Fiat Factories
by Archivio Fiat Documentary Italia 1923 30'

A procession of cars escorts the Duce along the Fiat plants, stopping for a while, for their special effects, in front of the big presses of the foundries. Benito Mussolini is shown again, dressing somewhat civilian clothes, a kind of trench freely fastened with a belt, and the operator frames his rhetorical skill, necessarily mute, often with long shots. During the climax, when the Duce performs his Fascist salute, a daring reverse shot shows that only a bunch of workers, among the thousands, answer back. At the signature of the Lingotto "Golden Book" you can hardly see a young Vittorio Valletta while, on the stand, during the meeting, senator Giovanni Agnelli is staring at Mussolini with frowning seriousness.
