Minuscule

Minuscolo
by Thomas Szabo Animazione Francia/France 2007 62'

The universe in miniature, life at the grassroots level in a field: lady bugs, ants, nails, caterpillars, bees and other creepy-crawlies going about their daily business. A fine example of edutainment combining the scientific detail of a National Geographic documentary...hanks to 3D animation with live footage-with the wacky humor of American cartoonist Tex Avery, the father of unforgettable characters like Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny.THE LADYBUG (6') The adventures of a ladybug: pursuits, the struggle for life and a lot of shrewdness… and a spider always left empty-handed.CATAPULT (6') Bugs and other little animals are walking on a corn leaf but they are all ejected. Hidden in the green there's a cricket: it's the engine starter of this catapult. But a ladybug, the only one that hasn't been caught, will avenge its little friends.MOVE IT ASIDE (6') A scarab is carrying away a delightful (for it) little excrement. But, in these moment, another scarab, with a bigger excrement, crosses its road. While they are quarrelling, another scarab with an even bigger excrement appears: as soon as they see it they start chasing it. But, finally, nobody will enjoy what is desiring so hardly.THE ANTS (6') A team of ants finds a fantastic loot: a full pack of sugarcubes. After several misadventures they take it to the anthill, but, actually they don't need it to eat its content, but to build a pyramid.PRISONER (6') A bee, flight by mistake inside a house, tries to go out in any way but unsuccessfully. A fly will help it, giving it freedom with a little trick.
