Moving through the labyrinth of an enormous and disorientating structure, director Rahul Jain takes us on a descent down to a place of dehumanizing physical labor: a gigantic textile factory located in Sachin, a city in the Surat Metropolitan Region in the Indian state of Gujarat. Since the 1960s the area has undergone unprecedented, unregulated industrialisation. Through carefully selected interviews, the film provides an intimate portrayal of the life of thousands workers dictated by the rhythm of the machines, and of the hardships they face.
