Greece was once a traditional land of emigrants but today it hosts immigrants from the Balkans, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, as well as more than a million Albanians. In the small village of Patsideros (called like that at the end of the war, "˜patsos' being the Greek word for peace) there is only one Greek student at the local school as all the others are Albanians. Yiannis, the teacher, stresses the importance of encouraging them not to forget their own language and culture while also learning those of their new "˜home'country. He says he likes learning from them too.
