At the end of 1999, Abderrahmane, a Mauritanian filmaker living in Paris, decides to go and visit his father at Sokolo, in Mali, to await the beginning of the new millenium. It portrays a poetic reflection on the unsolved relations between Europe and Africa, sometimes autobiographical at other times non-fictional, in the footsteps of the great Martinican poet and writer AimeÌ CeÌsaire.
