The Real Dirt on Farmer John

by Taggart Siegel Documentary Usa 2005 83'

The epic tale of John Paterson, nonconformist farmer of the American Midwest. After the death of his father, John transformed his traditional family farm into an experiment in art and agricolture, making it a gathering place for hippies, radicals and artists in the 1960s. Buffeted by an economic crisis in the 1980s, the farm failed. Isolated by gossip defaming him as drug dealer and workshipper of Satan, Paterson left the farm and roamed Latin America until his search led him back to his roots. Back in his homeland he founded the Angelic Organics, an agricultural village where art and agricolture meet once again.
