The Human Scale

La scala umana
by Andreas M. Dalsgaard 2012 83'

Today, 50% of the world's population lives in urban areas and by 2050 it is estimated that 80% will. Reasons for the flight to the cities range from climate and environmental factors to the myriad criticalities of daily living. With Jan Gehl, who has studied the evolution of urban life for the past 40 years, we discover in what ways today's cities preclude social interaction and set barriers to the basic human need for inclusion and intimacy.<%YOUTUBE=UWUTkmbNxQk%>
