The images of a typical riverbank landscape in the north of England taken across the seasons describe the life cycle of Heracleum mantegazzianum (giant hogweed), a poisonous and invasive plant that has rapidly displaced autochthonous species. Though regulated as a noxious weed and often actively removed, its impressive beauty cannot be ignored, as this documentary aptly shows.
The film is programmed in collaboration with the National Center for Short Films.
