The Shell
by Abdulkadir Ahmed Said Fiction Italia, Somalia 1992 30'

A painter finds a shell on a desert island. Out of curiosity, she picks it up and listens to its sound; she can then hear the voice of a girl telling her short and distressing story and that of her village, which once was on that beach. An ecological catastrophy had contaminated that land, damaging nature and many people's lives. All the people of Gwendershe (Somalia) took part in the making of the film.
