Karukinka

In the language of the Selk'nam, an indigenous people of Tierra del Fuego, karukinka means "our land". After the conquest of Tierra del Fuego by Europeans in the late 19th century and the extermination of the Selk, nam, very little of the land remains for the surviving indigenous peoples. A sad, little-known chapter in the history of colonialism is reconstructed by Mario Gomes and Elisa Balmaceda in their journey to one of the world's most remote regions.
