Students from the University of Gastronomic Science on a field trip: 154 students bicycle to the source of the Po. An excellent way to discover the area and its culture. The intent of the expedition organized by Slow-Food founder Carlo Petrini was to discover the river's vitality and importance, its historic and cultural heritage. The idea for this enjoyable and rewarding experience came from Mario Soldati's RAI TV show Viaggio lungo la valle del Po (1957) in which students collected testimonies from noted artists and intellectuals connected with the river (Ermanno Olmi, Gian Maria Testa, Antonio Albanese, Paolo Hendel, Ligabue, Michele Serra and others).
