Set up by lawyer Ludwig Minelli, a supporter of euthanasia as a basic human right, Zurich-based Dignitas is the only facility in the world authorized to provide assisted suicide deaths. The film chronicles the final four days of terminally ill Craig Ewert, a U.S. citizen, who is admitted to Dignitas to die; and the story of a Canadian couple, Betty and George Coumbias, he with final-stage heart disease, who come to Switzerland to decide whether or not to avail of Dignitas' services.
