Corinna is a small former textile mill town on Lake Sebaticook, Maine, irreparably polluted by years of indu- strial waste dumped into its waters. As reported in a 1964 article by essayist E.B. White written in memory of Rachel Carson, author of The Sea Around Us and Silent Spring, which remains an environmental manifesto.
