A four episode documentary on the most important ritual of the Enawene Nawe Indians from Mato Grosso. For seven months every year all traditional subsistence activities of this tribe are devoted to propitiatory rites to the spirits. The village inhabitants offer food, sing and dance in their honour. This way they ensure the future prosperity of the community. Among the episodes, one is particularly interesting: the cultivation of manioc, the main food of all Amazonian native people and of the gods as well. On that occasion, the Indians revive the myth of the girl who was buried by her mother and transformed herself into the first manioc bulb.
