Corazon verde

Green heart
by Diego Meza, Luis Sepùlveda Documentary Spagna, Cile 2002 30'

A threat looms over Patagonia: a powerful multinational aluminum manufacturer, with head-quar ters in the Cayman Islands, a notor ious tax haven, has plans for building a new plant there. It would be the world's second largest aluminum production facility, and the first built on a wildlife reserve. The directors interview inhabitants of this uncontaminated location south of the 42nd parallel, as they talk about the conflict between globalization and the need to live in dignity. "This is not an impartial film. Respect for life demands an opinion. This is ours."
