Cowboys in India

by Simon Chambers Documentary REGNO UNITO/UNITED KINGDOM 2009 79'

Can a major industrial company help a community through business-based social responsibility? To answer this question, Simon Chambers went to Orissa, a remote region in India where Vedanta, a British mining company, is planning to drill a mountain sacred to the area, justifying the decision that the project will bring benefit to the inhabitants of a nearby village. But not everyone agrees and some are ready to take up arms to defend their venerated natural patrimony. Aided by two local guides, Chambers launches an enquiry with unexpected ironic implications.<%YOUTUBE=Z_f4bkIp0Lg%>
