In a Transjordanian village, the population depends completely on Israel for what little fresh water the Israeli administration provides the Palestinian community. Water management involves not only maintaining control of the area, but also exerting pressure on its inhabitants. The community's only means to have free access to a supply of fresh water is by returning to the traditional method of collecting water from rainfall.
