In the heat of the Sicilian summer the CittàGardino immigrant center is empty except for six adolescent African boys endlessly awaiting either a visa or a transfer order. Day in, day out they wait in bored anticipation. Under the ever watchful eye of an old guard assigned to their care, they eat, sleep, and check their mobile phones incessantly. Even a visiting reporter cannot interrupt the monotony, the growing frustration, and the reluctance to tell their stories. A kind of inner silence reveals the drama, impatience, hope, and uncertainty about the future, caught by the camera in an attempt at solidarity.
