Cartoneros (people who make their living by scavenging garbage for recyclable materials) describes the experience of the Association of Cartoneros of Villa ItatiÌ (Quilmes, Buenos Aires), an organization born during the worst period of the economic crisis at the end of 2001. Luis, a cartonero and director of the association, reads from his personal diary and in this way presents us with a mosaic of stories and characters. Together with Luis, creating a singular tour of Villa ItatiÌ, is a camera person from the Association. ReneÌ, Vanesa and Carca, three directors from the Association, trained in how to use a video camera and during almost two years recorded a detailed documentation of the Association's activities
