Produced by David
Lynch, the film is set in Bhopal (India) during the gas tragedy of 1984. Bhopal Express denounces the
irresponsible methods of large corporations and their effects on common people.
On the night of the tragedy poisonous fumes coming out of the Union Carbide
factory spread over a 20 square kilometer area, killing over 8,000 people and
damaging the health of 500,000. To avoid "unjustified alarm" among
the nearby community, the factory siren was switched off. This will turn the
incident into a permanent disaster of enormous proportions.
