In a small town in Lapland, 15-year-old Riikka Karppinen is a town councilor, the youngest in Finland. Member of the Green Party, she is engaged in the battle for the defense of a nearby national park, surrounded by Natura 2000, created by the European Union for the protection of natural habitats, and at the same time threatened by one of the largest international mining companies interested in extraction of metals in the area. The company's offer constitutes a lucrative opportunity for development, but with consequences for the environment. The community is divided on the issue and Riikka will also come into conflict with her father. But the stakes for future generations are too high and sheis determined to go all the way.
